I've spent nearly ten years teaching golf in St. George, Utah, and I've always gotten results. Students improved. Handicaps came down. People left lessons better than they walked in.

But the gains weren't coming as fast as they should. A student would dial in their swing path, then lose it three weeks later. The fundamentals were getting better but progress was slower than I wanted.

The more I taught, the more I recognized how many golfers swing out of sequence. The percentage was staggering. I noticed how many golfers release the club before impact, which creates a swing that is inherently inconsistent.

Everything changed when I started asking a different question. Not what was going wrong in the swing — but why it was going wrong in the first place. After thousands of lessons and years of Trackman data, the answer kept pointing to the same place: the clubface itself. That one issue is the root cause behind the slice, the fat shot, the distance loss, the early extension. All of it.
